SUPPORT HEALING ARTS
What are healing arts?
Healing arts is an umbrella term for any type of treatment, practice, or method that combines creative expression with psychological and physiological awareness in order to promote holistic health. The goal of holistic health is to restore or maintain a state of well-being in which every aspect of a person—mind, body, and spirit—is balanced.

What are some examples?
Traditional examples include music, dance, writing/poetry and art therapy, but there are many others. Yoga, shibari, reiki, and meditation are eastern wellness practices that center around self-expression, connection, and personal growth and development. All healing art practices try to facilitate the body's natural ability to heal.

How are the healing arts different?
A humanistic perspective is what makes healing arts different from methods typically found in western medicine. The humanist approach looks at individuals as a whole, and acknowledges every aspect of their experience (beliefs, emotions, social connection, stress, environment, spirituality, etc.) plays a role in their health and well-being.
